译记：
因为狄金森的火车诗《我喜欢看它舔着一哩又一哩》，想起了惠特曼的《致冬天的火车头》；从那里又想起了多少年前诵读楚图南选译的《草叶集选》。
那时，读到楚译《大路之歌》的一些章节时，觉得有些句子拗口，比如第14章中：“从任何一项成功，都产生出某种东西，使更伟大的斗争成为必要”，或是第15章中：“我给你比黄金还宝贵的我的爱”。于是，就擅自做了改动。
后来读到赵萝蕤的译本，若干处同样读起来不顺。比如：“在实现任何一项成就时，不管是什么，必然会出现某种东西使更加伟大的斗争成为必要”，或是：“我给你的是比金钱宝贵得多的友爱”。
逝者如斯，当年我的那些改动现在未必还记得（准确）。不过，大致应该是这样的 --
