原文（见上）：几千年以来，诗从代表部族与神通灵的祭司，变为“社会的家庭教师”（别林斯基），变为投枪与匕首，变为号角与火炬……最后变为现代人自我消费的语言游戏——诗的“光环”已经一步步消逝，这已经是不止一代人的蜕变，似乎是前朝的事情了。

Over thousands of years, poetry has mutated from a priestly figure bridging mortal tribes and deities into the role of “the domestic governess” (Belinsky), then a symbol of spear and dagger, a token of bugle and beacon, and at last a mere game of words enjoyed by modern beings. Its original nimbus has gradually faded, and this mutation has endured for more than a generation, yet it seems but a thing of the past.
