橋頭有個花枝女，

細手細腳又細腰，

Warm vernal stream nurtures seedlings tender,

A bucket of oil is carried by a young vender

Crossing the two-way bridge of thoroughfare,

At the bridgehead sits a maid — a flower so fair,

With willow-waist, dainty feet, and fingers slender,

A tea-merchant from Nine-River makes them a pair...
