自娱按：我很赞同人们对这首诗的解读 - “这首诗借咏幼松以喻童子，幼松培育得当，便可成材，童子也是如此，寓有把希望寄托于新生后辈之意。”

 

陶渊明杂诗

其四∶

袅袅松标崖，婉娈柔童子。
年始三五间，乔柯何可倚。
养色含津气，粲然有心理。

On the cliff stands a pine, tall and slender,
Which is like a stripling, pretty and tender.
At the age of fifteen,
Against its trunk, one can hardly lean.
Yet under proper culture, it'll keep its sap,
And grow up to be a sturdy chap.
