其三

 

三日入厨下，洗手作羹汤。

未谙姑食性，先遣小姑尝。

 

The fourth day is her kitchen day,

Hands cleaned; she puts soups on the tray.

Unsure she’ll please mother-in-law,

She prays his sister would say yea.
