水国秋风夜，殊非远别时。
长安如梦里，何日是归期。

(A Fond Farewell as Magistrate Lu Sets Off for Pipa Gorge)

 

On this water country’s wind-seized fall night,

‘Tis not the best time for you to leave me.

Chang’an, though far, I oft dream it’s in sight,

Alas, when could the day of return be?
