一夜思亲泪，天明又复收。
恐伤慈母意，暗向枕边流。

(Mourning Father on New Year’s Day)

 

I cannot stop my grieving tears all night

Until the arrival of the first light.

For fear of saddening mother again,

I weep into my pillows out of sight.
