冰雪林中著此身，

不同桃李混芳塵。

忽然一夜清香发，

散作乾坤萬里春。

 

 

A Quatrain by Wang Mian (Yuan dynasty)

(White Plum Blossom Bloom with Pride)

 

In snow-iced forests she blossoms with pride,

Disdaining peach and pear in grime allied.

A sudden burst of her spring scent at night

Refreshes the air traveling worldwide.
