其一

梅雪争春未肯降，骚人搁笔费评章。

梅须逊雪三分白，雪却输梅一段香。

(Snow vs Plum Blooms)

 

For Queen of Spring plum blooms and snow have a tight race,

Which halters the bard’s brush to resolve this tough case.

Honestly, snow doth look much snowier than plum blooms,

Whereas snow lacks some sweet smell that plum blooms embrace.
