人月圓 – 吳激

南朝千古傷心事，

猶唱後庭花。

舊時王謝，

堂前燕子，

飛向誰家？

 

恍然一夢，

仙肌勝雪，

宮髻堆鴉。

江州司馬，

青衫淚濕，

同是天涯！

 

A Verse by Wu Ji (Jin Dynasty)

 

The Northern Soong, alas, deplorable,

In the Song of Backyard Flowers, did die.

Archdukes, Wang and Xie, of yore,

At their mansions the swifts were wont to nest,

Now to whose houses do they hie?

 

Alas, it seems a dream,

A faery-like maid, her skin looks snow white,

Her black bun with a hair tie,

Comes to serve the Governor of Jiangzhou,

His tears have soaked through his blue robe...

“We share the same homeless state...” they both cry.
