《观沧海》－ 曹操

 

东临碣石，以观沧海。

水何澹澹，山岛竦峙。

树木丛生，百草丰茂。

秋风萧瑟，洪波涌起。

日月之行，若出其中；

星汉灿烂，若出其里。

幸甚至哉，歌以咏志。

 

A Verse by Cao Cao

(Beholding the Blue Sea)

 

Eastbound to Mt. Jieshi I hie,

From its summit I behold sea.

The vast blue water rolls forth free,

The jaggy isles spear into sky.

Trees and greens abound far and nigh,

From near to far sprawls wild lea.

The wind whistles in autumn key,

The tidal waves billow forth high.

The moon and the sun move around,

As though they leap out of the deep.

The Galaxy blindingly bright,

As if from the sea, so astound.

In so much joyfulness I steep, 

I psalm my wishes with delight.

译后语：曹操的这首《观沧海》正好十四行，所以就借用 Petrarchan rhyme scheme 来英译。记得以前也用过这个韵谱译过《龟虽寿》的。
