雪梅二首 - 卢梅坡

 

其二

有梅无雪不精神，有雪无诗俗了人。 

日暮诗成天又雪，与梅并作十分春。

 

A Quatrain by Lu Meipo (Soong dynasty)

(Snow with Plum Blooms)

 

It’d be lifeless if no snow adorned each plum bloom,

If no poems praised snow, all would be drowned in gloom.

A poem is writ as snow starts to fall at night,

With plum blooms a perfect spring scene the trio doth groom.
