Bird Watch in My Backyard (图)

Although my house is located in big metro area, we have a lot of delightful guests -- birds. 

The most common ones are humming birds.  There’s a huge eucalyptus tree in my backyard, which gives thousands of bright red flowers.  Humming birds love them.  At peak season, we can see hundreds of humming birds flying around the tree.  This tree is the best and biggest humming bird feeder I’ve ever seen. 

The other common ones are crows, sparrows, seagulls, which are not worth mentioning.  The special ones which I took pictures of are below:

The least welcome yet the best looking visitor is the crane.  I don’t know if it is always the same one who is visiting.  Every time he comes, we lose our biggest koi’s in our pond.  He comes for the fish feast.  When he opens up his wings, he is even bigger than I am.

My favorite one is the eagle.  He has a nest nearby.  He chases the crows away and likes to stand near my pool.

The cutest ones are the little black and yellow birds, whose name I don’t know.  They love to take a bath in the waterfall above my pond.

Picture 2 and Picture 3 were taken at the same place, but different seasons. I am wondering how you built this small pond. It seems that you had a contractor to put the pund in the backyard because it required some heavy equipment. Anyway, looks like you know a lot of birds and flowers. Amazing. I like flowers, but never tried to know and remember their names.
