酬知退 – 元稹

 

终须修到无修处，闻尽声闻始不闻。

莫著妄心销彼我，我心无我亦无君。

 

Wisdom on Withdrawal by Yuan Zhen

 

Practice, practice until nothing left to entice,

Listen, listen till outer voice be inner voice.

Be never so stiff-minded — mark self from others，

In neither self nor liege shall my heart rejoice.
