前不见古人，后不见来者。

念天地之悠悠，独怆然而涕下。

No chance to encounter the great sages of yore,

Nor could I chance upon the coming sage-like peers.

Contemplating heaven and earth, the more

Loneliness swells, I shed welling-up tears.
