Wedding

My friend who got married had been a golden bachlor for many years. He is one of the most intelligent and kindest people I have known. Her bride is also a very intellectual person. They make a perfect couple. I thought I had seen too many scenes on TV and movies about the wedding ceremony. When I saw the bride walk in her white gown along the aisle toward the altar to meet her groom, I could not help but feeling my eyes wet. It was really a beautiful ceremony. The funny part was that when the priest said, "you may kiss the bride." my groom friend blushed and hesitated for almost 10 seconds before kissed his bride. The Chinese audience laughed. The American guests probably could not understand the cultural subtlty there. The ceremony was Western style, but the reception was unmistakenly Chinese. We had a banquet at a Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious although the the dish of a giant fish might have posed another culinary challenge for the American guests. Overall, it was a great event. I am happy that my friend is finally getting settled down, and bachlor no more!
