哲学巨擘苏格拉底被民主处死，而他的徒孙另一位哲学巨擘却被专制的独裁者尊为私人老师。亚历山大一生的显赫作为有多少要归功于他的老师的教诲恐怕是难以估量的。但是，如果因此而得出结论说专制比民主更喜欢哲学和智慧，那就过于简单了。在中国的几千年的专制历史上不乏焚书禁书和文字狱的例子，那显然是不利于独立思想的发展因而也不利于哲学的发展和传播的[阅读全文]
