一封旧信:谈谈儿童多动#3

以下是和一位深受多动家庭的分享,还没把中文弄出来,但愿能够给困扰中的孩子和父母提供参考。更多的,也但愿我能够好好地写下来,跟自己说加油吧。

try to make it short. Just for easy reading. Here are my understandings about hyperactivity and diet:

#1. The hyper kids have a very fragile nerve system, which means 

 a. they are highly sensitive to any factors that could influence the brain, including external factors like allergies, medications, vaccines, foods, heavy metals, dust, or even new underpants they wear, internal ones like illness, stresses, growing, candida. Actually anything could be a hyper factor. And Any tiny transition could be a storm to their brain, which easily trigger their hyperactivities.

b. Hyper kids have a much higher demand for nutrition for their body and their soul. Feed the kids with the balanced brainy foods with the right proteins, fats, and carbs. And mostly love them unconditionally with endless patience. It's never easy, and as long as I truly believe this is a mission that God give me growing with my boy, I am willing to do anything.

c. At some points, hyper kids are very smart creatures. But they need much more help for many things. It's very important to remember this because they need support to build their confidence at home and outside, mostly school.


#2. Understanding gluten: Gluten is like the glue spreads all over the digestive tract. First this could inhibit the gastrointestinal tract from absorbing enough nutrition to the body especially brain, which is the most sensitive organ for the hyper kids. Second it allows the yeast overgrow, which could disturbs brain function on hyper kids. Go gluten free at the beginning and see if you could add a little bit more later.

#3. Many hyper kids have Brain Allergy, which means any sensitive thing that they contact with could impact their brain functions and cause them hyper. Food is a biggest factor and allergy elimination diet does help the kids to find out why I am hyper. Here is a link I always love to recommend

And search more books that work on your family. 


My experience is that 

a. All natural homemade foods. All whole grains.
b. no milk (I mean any diary products), no gluten, no orange colour food, no Salicylic
Foods like grapes, apples. I didn't try eliminating Salicylic foods.
c. no white foods. 
d. No chemicals. Colouring, flavouring, or any other artificial addictives are only the disasters to hyper kids' brain.
f. No added sugar at all. Help the kid's diet transition with low carb natural sweetener like Stevia. I have a lot at home from Costco. Please come to grab it if you need.

#4. Cleanse the body. Drink lots of water. Detox the body. There are Maybe some parasites or heavy metals or food addictives bothering the body and needed to be let out. 

#5. Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) excises. Hyper kids more or less have SPD. In Taiwan, school treats kids with SPD first. If the problems can't be solved, kids will be guided for more investigation. Shame in CA, teachers can't wait to label the kids.
