I heard the sermon by Dr. Robert Jeffress today titled “Addicted to pleasure”.
The following really strike me.
He said to know what our idols are, ask ourselves 3 questions:
1. What do you talk about most often?
2. What do you think about most often?
3. If somebody were to give you $20,000, how would you spend it?
Your answers to those questions will tell you what the real focus of your life is.
He also said that an idol is not just a wooden statue you bow down to. An idol is anything that you think about, talk about, you spend your money on instead of God.
It’s frightening because my answer revealed that God is not my focus all the time. My answers reveal that I am the idol of my life.
I thank God for revealing this to me, also pray for His continuous work on my life so as to make Him the center of my life.
I wonder if we ask professing Christians today, what kind of answers will we get.
How do you answer those questions?
