What is it
that makes a human human?
Among others, a heart capable
of emphathy is one, I guess.
Even as a bystander on the roadside,
to take the role of others,
put the self in his or her shoe, and
walk a mile, at least, just to feel
more often than joy, the pain, the suffering...
on the journey of the life cycle:
I call this conscience.
Population is approaching seven billion on earth,
a third of our fellow human beings
already living in regions
stressed with clean water; in addition,
polluted air, polluted food,…and
the worst of all, the polluted MIND,
add to global warming, earthquakes, tsunami, starvation,
hatred, and endless wars…
An era of globalization, and commodification,
where everyone is driven to compete for resources;
in the name of “ success,”
to become a self-centered little “Sun.”
When too many suns occupy the Earth,
too heavy for Mother Earth to bear,
will she eventually run off her orbit?
When the Earth is out of balance,
how would she impact the Sun in the universe?
