美国图书馆员协会还列出1990~2004年最受质疑的头10位作家, 其中大部分为畅销书作家, 许多还是各种出版奖项的获得者. 他们是

1. Alvin Schwartz 少儿作家及画家, “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” 的作者




2. Judy Blume 少儿作家, 作品多涉及有争议的内容, 如种族主义, 离婚, 青少年性问题等等. 获得the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, Margaret A. Edwards Award




3. Robert Cormier 少儿作家, “The Chocolate War”的作者,获得者 Margaret A. Edwards Award




4. J.K. Rowling “Harry Potter” Series 的作者,获得多个奖项




5. Michael Willhoite 少儿作家及画家, 很奇怪, 除了他的作品Daddy’s Roommate外, 几乎找不到他生平资料和图片.
6. Katherine Paterson 少儿作家, 1932年于中国出生, 生长于传教士家庭, 她认为少儿文学作品应当反映当代现实主义的内容, 作品两次获得National Book Award




7. Stephen King 恐怖小说作家, 非常多产, 200多部作品中有50多种为畅销书, 获得The National Book Foundation's Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters.




8. Maya Angelou 曾获得Pulitzer Prize奖提名




9. R.L. Stine 少儿恐怖小说作者, 被称为少儿文学中的Stephen King. 获得过Champion of Reading Award,半Disney Adventures Kids' Choice Award, Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards
