Diana's baby shower party

Diana and Douglas are parents-to-be, since they don’t have many friends and families in town, my husband asked me to give them a baby shower party. Initially I against this idea,( with 3 kids I have enough to do without it). Then I thought 9 years ago when I was pregnant with my first son, two other faculties’ wives were very generous to give me a wonderful baby shower party, I certainly should pass on the generosity to them, plus I can use this opportunity to improve my hubby’s public relationship (just kidding) Anyway, we only invited faculty families, most people came except those who were on vacation. It was a good party, but there was something different about holding a party for bunch of scientists, through out the party everybody was quiet and reserved, no big laughter, no loud voice even my normally wild kids were on their best behavior(strangely). May be I am a not good host to bring out everybody’s party spirit. Well, despite of this everyone seemed to enjoy the party and I was relieved that my duty was fulfilled.
