While waiting in front of a red light on the way to the school dance party with my 9 year-old son, we saw two motorcycle riders on both side of me. My son said to me “Mom they are going to have a race.” Sure enough, as soon as the light changed to green, the two riders rev up the engine and raced away. I asked my son how he knew that they were going to race, and here was his answer:
“While we were waiting for the light, both riders looked at you, because you are pretty so they want to show off.”
My first reaction was: Wow, wait minute, my little boy already knew that boy always want to show off to pretty girls. Ha, I wonder whether he tries to show off at school.
My second reaction was: At least, my son thinks I am pretty, he just made (rest of) my day.
Then my son opened his mouth again, “Mom, you need to keep your sunglasses on, because your eyes make you look older, then they won’t show off to you anymore.”
What! My son thinks I look old! Oh no, I must to have too many wrinkles.
During the dance, I asked my son if he wanted to dance with me, and he said “Mom, no offense, I just don’t want to dance with you, sorry.”
I feel sad. I guess am just not pretty enough to dance with my son. So I sat on the cold bench all night long, while he was having so much fun…
No, I was just kidding. I had lots of fun watching my son dance and mingle with his friends, but not with girls though.
