A woman's face with nature's own hand painted,
Hast thou, the master mistress of my passion;
A woman's gentle heart, but not acquainted
With shifting change, as is false women's fashion:
An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,             
Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;
A man in hue all hues in his controlling,
Which steals men's eyes and women's souls amazeth.
And for a woman wert thou first created;
Till Nature, as she wrought thee, fell a-doting,                  
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
   But since she prick'd thee out for women's pleasure,
   Mine be thy love and thy love's use their treasure.

你呀你，做了我雄性情妇；
芳心柔嫩，明镜无染，
不像悍妇时髦女郎生变故；
双眸光压众芳，流转不滚假眼珠，①
顾盼之处，纯金镀亮黄土；
英雄瑰态，②统领天下翘楚，
窃得君子回头，搅乱淑女灵府。
天工原本想画女相，
可她定稿时六神无主，
添一笔犯了个小小错误——
那家伙是我不中意的玩物。③
造化为你塑身想让女人享大福，④
我得真情知足，听由她们逗你爱抚。

 * 十四行诗（Sonnet）或音译为商籁体，莎士比亚式十四行诗（Shakespearean Sonnet）结构严谨，每首包含三节四行诗（quatrains）和一个煞尾对句（couplet），每行十个音节（syllables），采用抑扬格五音步（iambic pentameter），韵脚排列一般为：abab cdcd efef gg。本书中译或仿照原诗押尾韵，或有所变通。
① 原文「rolling 」一词，意为「roving 」，即「rove」（眼睛环视）的动名词。
② 原文「 hue 」一词，此处意为「 form」，即形态。
③ 原文「defeated」一词，意为「cheated」 或 「defrauded」，即哄骗, 「one thing 」指阳具。
④ 原文「 pricked 」一词，意为「selected」，即挑选出，或用一个小点标出（男性特征），名词「prick」（刺）在现代英语俚语中指阳具。
