老歌新译 -- 美国国歌《星条旗》歌词

啊，是谁，你可见，当那朝霞即来 ，
为她我们欢呼自豪，在那余晖夕阳，
呼啸拼搏沙场，她那明星和宽带，
同在我们保卫的要塞，无畏地高高飘扬？

《星条旗 》 (THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER) 是美国国歌。它的歌 词写于1814 年。其作者弗朗西斯•斯考特•基 ( Francis Scott Key) 当年是一位 35 岁的律师兼业余诗人。 1812年的英美战争中，弗朗西斯在巴尔的摩亲眼看到英军战舰从柴萨匹克湾对麦克亨利堡的炮火轰击以及美军的顽强抵抗。 激 战之后的 9月13日凌晨 , 目睹美军的英勇胜利和城堡上一面依然高高飘扬的星条旗， 弗朗西斯深深感动，遂写下了这首诗歌。

后来，这首诗歌被配上了一首流行的英国饮酒歌的音乐 , 歌名也取为《星条旗》。不久，这首歌成为了一首美国的爱国歌曲。但是，由于它有一个半八度音域，此歌又以难唱出名。 1889年美国海军将它用作正式场合演唱的歌曲， 1916年它又成为美国白宫一首正式歌曲。 1931年3月3日，美国国会通过立法正式将《星条旗》定为国歌。虽然此歌共有四节，但是今天通常演唱的只是第一节。

在此新译中，笔者尝试尽量准确译出原意的同时，又力求保留原文的韵头和韵尾，并使每个诗句的音节长度与相应原文诗句相似。这样做的主要目的是为了保证译文的可唱性，使之能够仍然比较容易地用原乐曲演唱。
