直到世界反应了灵魂最深处的需要

这可能是Louise Gluck最惊人的一句诗，或许因此国内出版她的诗集时，用了这句做书名：《直到世界反应了灵魂最深层的需要》（当然啰，我觉得把“层”改为“处”更具诗意）。这样的句子，也恰是读诗的最大乐趣之一，跟着诗人的指引-经由他们构造的意像，声音，漫游的思路-一路到达“思考可抵达、知觉不可抵达的”，“灵魂可抵达、身躯不可抵达的”，“文字可抵达，话语不可抵达的”的世外之处，然后bang! 遇到这种水落石出般的，惊魂一瞥般的，石破天惊般的一句，你不由得击掌赞叹，所有的蜿蜒阅读如此值得！

直到世界反应了灵魂最深处的需要 - 正是诗人们的使命，或许因此Gluck经常反复就同一个题目写，或写已经被反复吟诵的， 比如这段乡愁：

The summer night glowed; in the field, fireflies were glinting./夏夜洒下光辉，田间萤火虫在闪烁

And for those who understood such things, the stars were sending messages:/对那些懂的心灵，群星送出信息：
