1113 “This pandemic will take us into 2022“

We all heard about the 1918 pandemic also known as Spanish flu.

Today I watched this PBS interview  conducted with a  physician and sociologist from Yale university.  He said before the 1918 pandemic,  the restaurants used to have spittoons (sounds gross). And afterwards spittoons diapered, never returned.

He thinks our life may go back to what it was like before 2020, but there are things  on a bigger scale. For example, business travel, teaching and working from home will change.

The 1918 pandemic lasted from 1918 to 1920. And this pandemic, according to this Yale university doctor, will take us into 2022.   Because even if several vaccines are invented in the next few months, we still have challenges in manufacturing, distributing and persuading the public to accept the vaccine.

And sometime in 2024, life will slowly begin to return to normal, with some persistent changes.

What do you think about his predictions? I feel a little bit depressed.

All right, let’s stay positive and have a nice weekend!

Thank you for reading and if you see any mistakes, please correct me.
