Is China a threat to America's power and superiority?

Q: Is China a threat to America's power and superiority?

A:

From the US perspective, Yes. China is climbing up the value chain in the world economy and it is breaking through the US monopoly. From the China’s perspective, No. China followed the advice of Western economists and embraced the market competition. China was told how great are the US fathers, especially Jefferson who said that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are the inalient human rights. China is working hard to develop its economy for the human rights of Chinese people who pursue happiness by peacefully developing their economy, through free market competition.

Monopoly is the opposite of competition. A free market economy upholds competition and restricts monopoly. Competition propels the progress of technology and benefits the consumers.

We have witnessed the phenomena for the last few decades. Whatever China bought in the world market, it was expensive. Once China could make it, the price would drop sharply. The West is in a monopoly position in the world market, while China is in a competitive position. Competition lowers prices. Monopoly profits at the expense of consumers and human progress.

China has nothing to against American power and superiority. It asks only for fairness in the world order and respect for the hard work of Chinese people in the world economy.

The world is complex. People in the world depend on each other. There should be a power or authority to keep the world in order. China respects power and superiority if the power is fair to all. That’s why China advocates mutual respect and win-win cooperation in international relations. What China is against is the abuse of power.

The US should use its power and superiority to do good things for the world. As the movie Spider-Man says, great power comes with great responsibility. As a superpower, the US has the responsibility of making the world peaceful and prosperous. Yet the US is too greedy. It abuses its power. It used the power to maximize its interest at the expense of others. Its foreign policy is America First. America First is legitimate if it follows decent and fair international law. But the US acts unilaterally. It creates the rules in its favor, interprets the rules in its favor, enforces the rules selectively in its favor, breaks the rules when it feels fit, and makes new rules in its favor. This cycle repeated again and again in its rule-based order. Its economic activities are mostly not creating wealth, but making rules through IMF and WTO, interpreting rules by its lawyers and mainstream narratives, enforcing rules with sanctions and military interference, and breaking rules unilaterally. It acts as a dictator, a tyrant in the world order. Whatever the US says or acts becomes international rules. This is typical of power corruption and absolute power corrupting absolutely.

Everyone with a conscience should welcome the peaceful rise of China as a threat to the US hegemony. China is the future of mankind. The stronger China is the more peace and prosperity in the world. The US is the root culprit of wars and chaos in the world.
