Ambassador Wang briefed China’s economic performance in the first five months of this year, emphasizing that the basic trend of China's long-term economic growth has not changed, and China will continue to provide cooperation opportunities for countries around the world including Canada. China always regards Canada as a friend and partner. The recent phone call between Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has injected strong impetus into the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Canada to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promote continuous improvement and development of bilateral relations.
Mr. Hyder commended China’s economic performance and China's great contribution to the world economy, stressing that Canadian enterprises attach importance to the Chinese market and look forward to more trade and investment cooperation with Chinese counterparts.

On August 7, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di met with the President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada (BCC), Mr. Goldy Hyder.
Ambassador Wang briefed about the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC and China’s economic situation in the first half of the year. He highlighted that highly complementary in terms of economic structure and resource endowment, China and Canada have broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture and environmental protection. China stands ready to advance relations with Canada on the basis of mutual respect, seeking common ground while reserving differences, and win-win cooperation, and to strengthen trade and practical cooperation in other fields for the benefit of the people of the two countries. He hoped that the Business Council of Canada will play an active role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
