上次介绍了Lone star的Amazed，那是第一次介绍典型的Country Pop，这次再介绍一首比较新的Country Pop经典，Lady Antebellum的“Need You Now”。Lady Antebellum国内翻译为"战前女神"，是由三个音乐世家子弟Charles Kelly，Hillary Scott，Dave Haywood组成，他们之前并没有太突出的表现，直到这首歌横空出世，2009年发布后，在公告牌乡村歌曲榜上连续五周霸占第一的位置，之后于2010年3月20日在公告牌百强单曲榜拿下亚军之位 （通常乡村歌曲是不可能拿到前三名的）。2010年，该歌曲荣获AMC“年度最佳单曲录制”、“年度最佳歌曲”，第53届格莱美奖最佳“年度制作”、“年度歌曲”，全美乡村音乐奖“年度最佳单曲” 等奖项。这个默默无闻的组合可以说是凭此曲横扫各项大奖，一时风光无限。
除了在乡村音乐圈中横扫各项奖项，这首歌还再多部电视剧中出现，包括Hellcats 和 The Glades. 同时被许多大牌歌手翻唱，包括Adele和Derius Rucker。
这首歌基本上属于治愈系情歌，歌曲的编曲，除了轻快的小提琴（Fiddle）和传统的三段式组曲方式外，加入了吉他和钢琴，给整首歌增添了一些蓝调的气息，已经去除了标准的田纳西的乡土味道，加入了更多的都市男女的情愫。歌词讲述的是一对已经分手的恋人，但难掩心中对爱的渴望，在午夜时分在对方的电话留言机上留下了心情的告白，表达了主人公对往昔恋人的热切思念以及对美好回忆的向往，短短的字里行间让听者感到前所未有的共鸣。
