Major General Bob Dees as the new Chairman of Dr. Carson\'s camp

A number of years ago, my then-13 year old grandson devoured Dr. Carson's 1996 book, Think Big, while we were away on a family vacation.

He loved it so much that he ended up leading our four-day morning study time, one chapter after another.

I was amazed at how Dr. Carson pulled out the best potential from my grandson, so I started learning more about him. The more I did, the more I believed in him.

Many politicians have fans. Dr. Carson has believers.

I'm proud to tell you that I'm one of them -- and that is why I'm so honored to serve as the new Chairman of Dr. Carson's campaign.

You've likely seen news reports about changes within our campaign. These changes will allow us to more pro-actively and more aggressively communicate to the American people exactly who Ben Carson is and what he believes. You saw the beginning of that yesterday with the release of his plan to reform the tax code.

Here's who I believe...better yet here's who I know Ben Carson is:

Ben Carson is the most qualified candidate to be your next President and Commander-in-Chief.

He has an unwavering moral compass, the right temperament and the most relevant experience.

He has a lifetime of integrity and consistency.

He has received more 2 AM crisis phone calls and has had to make more life-and-death decisions than anyone else running.

He is uniquely prepared to be the wise hand holding our nuclear codes and protecting us from terrorism at home and abroad.

Ben Carson can be the great Uniter-in-Chief to heal our nation and our inner cities, and the complex problem-solver to fix our nation's woes.

I am truly honored to serve in this new role for a man that I believe in so deeply.
