This was a very good idea for a film, beautiful settings and an exciting plot, but unfortunately the Nazi is completely ridiculous. It's as if McDowell is playing it for laughs. Probably thought there wasn't much else he could do with such a caricature of a part. Also I couldn't help wondering what language they were all meant to be speaking. French? German? Basque maybe.
