比才的歌剧卡门150周年纪念：爱情就像一只叛逆的小鸟（旧译文）
刚刚发现，今年，2025，是比才的歌剧卡门1875年首场演出（3/3/1875）的150周年，现在再把我去年的译文再贴于此，因为再过几天就不是150周年了。

四幕歌剧卡门【1】是H. Meilhac 【2】和 L. Halevy【3】根据Prosper Mérimée【4】的同名小说改编成的歌剧。由Georges Bizet【5】谱曲。首场是1875年在巴黎演出的。

How many did he see? Carmen ran for 33 performances before Bizet’s death. He likely attended or supervised several of these in the weeks following the premiere.

The Tragic Irony: On the night of the 33rd performance (June 3, 1875), Bizet died of a heart attack at the age of 36.

Unseen Success: Because the opera was so controversial, it only became a massive international hit after it moved to Vienna and London later that year. Bizet died never knowing that he had written what would become the most popular opera in history.
