译自德文by me, 英文由Gemini proofread过。
The Goat and the Well
One day, a man is walking and finds a well in a meadow. He looks into the well and cannot see the bottom.
He throws a small stone in, but hears no sound. Then he takes a larger stone, but again, hears nothing. He thinks, "The well is either too deep or I need a much larger stone." He finds a gigantic rock, drags it to the well, and throws it in. Again, there is no sound.
Suddenly, a goat runs toward him at full speed. He jumps to the side—the goat runs past him and jumps headfirst into the well.
Several minutes later, a farmer comes by and asks, "Have you seen a goat?" The man says, "Yes, it just jumped into the well!" The farmer replies, "That's not possible—I had it tied to a large stone."
