Why we have emotional up and downs in family life? Unfair, cheating, betrayal, abandaned love: those are unfortunately not strangers in any relationship, family life included; and they are always source of strong negative feelings such as pain and sense of lost.
The hard part of this business is that it is not easy at all to escape or get out of it, as we have responsibilities (and we regard that dearly and proud of that we have).
However, there are always other less fortunate people who are in a more miserable and harder situation in life and they somehow courageously managed to work though it in a respectful way.
I was listening to a CBC Radio One documentary titled “Marriage, Sex, Betrayal and Negotiation” this morning on my way to work. It is an interviewing piece about how women live their lives and maintain their family when their husbands are bi-sexual, and have casual homosexual behaviors outside of marriage. In the interviews, those women expressed their feelings, emotions and described their reactions as well as how they cope with them.
Sometimes, it helps to listen to others experiences, share and learn.
Life is far from perfect, far from dreamed, or planed, and full of surprises, often working out against us. But it does have moments which bring joy and happiness. Enjoy and appreciate those moments fully when we can.
