There are over 50 rock art sites, with thousands of figures, as well as numerous archeological sites. The park has a reconstructed North-West Mounted Police Post located on its original site. Writing-On-Stone is one of the largest areas of protected prairie in the Alberta Parks System, and includes significant coulee environments and prairie wildlife habitats.
