科学诺贝尔奖是用钱堆出来的我最近从NIH美国国家卫生研究院的一份报告看到,从2007–2010年拿R01orP01grant的平均直接费用directcost是$220,000,再加上间接费用indirectcost(至少50%)$110,000,大概等于$330,000,发文章的中位数是六.也就是说,大约$55,000发一篇论文(NIH博士后工资$四万左右，博士生$三万左右).想得奖就得发好文章.如果一位助理教授从三十岁起拿grant到五十岁,共二十年做研究课题[阅读全文]

最近参加一个国内来美的“招贤会”。问起一民营药厂的副所长(moleculardiagnostics,with3ypost-docexperience)挣多少。回答是20万RMB,外加一套2brapartmentandacompany-providedcar. 问一下桌子左右的人，多数是StaffScientist,SeniorScientist,Groupleader,还有少数的是directors.有10到20年工作经验技能的人现在挣$100kto$250k.大概是国内这位副所长的3到8倍。这些人要养家供房，20万RMB（3万多美元），根本不够[阅读全文]
