The Little Tree Hugger

One Saturday afternoon Olivia and I were sitting at the table eating lunch, or at least trying to eat lunch.

Olivia had fish sticks in front of her but was refusing to eat them, they were not the kind that she was used to.

While trying to argue with her to eat her food, Olivia said, "Fish sticks are made from fish, and fish are animals.  I like animals.  I don't want to eat them.  I'm a tree hugger."

"You're a what?"  I asked, just to make sure I heard her right.

"A tree hugger" she pronounced.

"Do you even know what a tree hugger is? Is it someone who hugs trees?" I threw in a test.

"Well my friend at school knows all about it.  Tree huggers like animals.  And I like animals.  So I'm a tree hugger."

"OK, but you still need to eat some lunch.  Do you want leftover chicken?"  I asked.

"OK" she said.

Haha, sweetie, the real tree huggers are not going to eat that chicken :).
