Total Lies Create False Progress, While the Field Shows that Attacking Costs Far More Than Defending

Live from Ukraine ????????
Kyiv During an interview with Axios, the President of Ukraine addressed a crucial point yesterday, supporting it with two undeniable facts:Putin does not have enough military equipment and personnel to win the war.
First, becausehis strongest battalions have been destroyed: since the beginning of 2025, he has lost approximately 346,000 men due to deaths and injuries, which is the same number he mobilized during that period.
Second, it is clear thatthe assurances he privately gave to Trump in Anchorage that he would invade all of Donbas by mid-October have failed badly.
Consequently, as Zelensky noted, the Russians are using the highways they have built in the Western information space to make thoseimaginary advancesthat on the ground proceed uphill and with the handbrake pulled.

Accordingto British intelligence statistics, the Russian army has lost 1,118,000 soldiers since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At a rate of a thousand casualties per day, the Russian authorities are now considering the introduction of annual conscription to reduce the impact of these losses on the populations morale.
Just yesterday, the Russians launched a new mechanized assault on Volodymyrivka and Shakhove, deploying 29 armored vehicles in that sector of Dobropillia but ultimately losing more than half of them (two tanks, 12 combat vehicles, and one light anti-tank gun). That massive loss of men and resources resulted only in the infiltration of a few Russian soldiers into Shakhove, while the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled the occupiers at least three points (Fedorivka, Nikanorivka, and Novy Shakhovy), after raising the yellow-and-blue flag at at least three others: Sukhetske, Zatyshok, and Kucheriv Yar.
Saying that, overall, Russia is not making any progress is incorrect because, at a very high human, economic, and technical cost, some progress has been achieved. However, it is equally misleading to interpret daily setbacks like those described as success.
The Russian army is bleeding much faster than the Ukrainian one, because if theres one thing this great war of the new millennium has proven, its thatattacking costs disproportionately much more than defending.
Current technologies enable the affordable production of drones capable of neutralizing multi-million dollar attacks and mechanized vehicles, just as was seen in the Russian offensive against Shakhove and Volodymyrivka, which is a carbon copy of at least two other similar unsuccessful attempts by the Russians between September and October on Kostiantynivka and Kupiansk.
There,in Pokrovsk, Russian saboteurs have indeed infiltratedand, at a significant cost, are nowtrying to reinforce positions that the Ukrainians have repeatedly destroyed, who keep pushing them back until their generals send more.

Faced with such a situation, any observer with the slightest knowledge of the facts would have immediately dismissed asfalse the news released by the Russian news agency TASS about the alleged encirclement of 5,000 Ukrainian troops. Unfortunately, however, the media actually present on the ground is increasingly rare, and so lies find fertile ground. If, as I reported yesterday, its the public information service itself thats reposting certain fake news created by those agencies, theres no reason why the Kremlins megaphones shouldnt feel compelled to spread even bigger ones. Thus, it happens that the supposedly encircled Ukrainian soldiers number as many as 10,000, as some Italian news sources report, citing alleged analysis and defense sources written by the same authors.
This issue isnt confined to Italy; it has become so serious worldwide that Zelensky needed to intervene directly, dismissing those exaggerated stories astotal liesdesigned to give the false impression of an imminent Russian victory. As the Ukrainian president clarified, aside from minor adjustments, the front-line situation has stayed the same for two or three months. However, the situation described by the media is not, and thats where the true strength of the Wests enemy lies.
For years, Moscow has invested enormous sums to consolidate a network of spies, informants, officials, and corrupt journalists which was once the pride of the former Soviet Union, skillfully adapting it to new technologies. Considering the cost of war on the military side and the repercussions of media coverage on the political decisions that can influence a global conflict, those pharaonic expenditures are peanuts, which have yielded truly remarkable returns.
