危峰高瞰楚江干，楚江这里是指湘江，岳麓山在其西岸。

许渊冲译成：The frowning peak overlooks the southern riverside 

 

平沙 vast sand plain

许译: flat sand

浅草翻译成grass就行。许译：shallow grass。

 

落日孤城隔水看，看在这里是平声，守护的意思，不是看见。夕阳下隔着湘江岳麓寺和长沙互相陪伴。

许渊冲译成：The town across the stream at sunset can be seen

Amid the wind and rain a lonely monk feels chill.

Flat sand and shallow grass stretch as far as the skies;

Northern and southern countries come into my eyes;

To hear the partridges sing alone on rails I lean.
