今天的维修项目是象牙琴键着实让我惊叹不已，因为现在使用象牙做琴键的琴是越来越少了，特别是60，70年代之后生产的琴都很少象牙琴键了。

今天遇到的象牙琴键各项测试指标都非常吻合（The main giveaway of ivory keys is that they tend to have a line where the stem and the key top join running through the keys at the base of the black keys.）其中纹路和柔滑、吸汗，等都是其他材质键盘所不具备的，也就是说防滑象牙是制琴键最好的材料。许多老牌钢琴家都是十分青睐象牙键盘滴，表示在象牙键上演奏的感觉与用塑料键制作的感觉不同。（Pianists have expressed that playing on ivory keys feels different from those made with plastic keys.）

But, the ivory’s porous nature absorbs sweat, allowing your fingers to glide across the keys with very little resistance.
That’s just one of the many reasons why professionals prefer this material over plastic.
