I is not ego, not the sum
我不是自我，也不是

of your unique experiences,
你的独特经历的总和，

just, democratically,
只不过是，根据规则，

whoever’s talking,
无论由谁来说，

a kind of motel room,
就像汽车旅馆里的一个房间，

yours till the end—
归你使用直到最后离开—

that is, of the sentence.

The language, actually,

doesn’t think I'simportant,

stressing, even in

grandiose utterances—

I saw I conquered —

the other syllables.

Oh, it’s a technical problem,

sure, the rhyme

on so-so-open

lie，cry，I

harder to stitch tight

than the ozone
比补好天上的臭氧空洞

hole in the sky.

But worst is its plodding insistence—
还有最糟糕的就是单调乏味不停地说—

I，I，I —
我，我，我 —

somebody huffing uphill,
气喘吁吁爬坡的某个人，

face red as a stop sign,
脸红得像停车指令牌，

scared by a doctor
好像受到一个医生惊吓

or some He She It
或许惊吓源于某些镜子里

surprised in the mirror.
惊讶不已的他她它。



注：“我来了，我看见，我征服”是一个拉丁短语的英译。
据信出现在凯撒大帝于公元前46年， 在他迅速战胜
庞忒斯的Pharnaces二世之后写给罗马元老院的信中。
这句话是用来指迅速，决定性的胜利。
