It’s still days away from Memorial day, but the highest temperature of 80F as a normalcy and 90F as an extreme already bring people a summer feeling. In this world, there are no such things which are perfect to each individual. As for Trees, We will not be bothered of discussing the beneficial aspects of them…, but the thREE- weeks pollen season in May is really a pain for people who have POLLEN ALLERGY.

 

Since middle of May, in wild and gardens, brilliant summer flowers sweepingly come to stage. That’s why people use May flowers as a narrative to express prosperity, hope …;  At the border of bushes, one or two Rabbits start coming into my sight with their brown furs and short white tails; Bees are getting busier, Butterflies start joining in, lilac, rose, honeysuckle, butter cup flowers are all their delicacy;  chipmunks start being more active; the first glance of solitary blue heron standing at the edge of pond will make me feel I am passing by at the right time and right site; the newly hatched baby ducks start wandering with their mother, around them, Canada geese and green-head ducks are spending their leisure time.

 

I like everything of May but the May pollen. Even without pollen allergy problem, I still felt the unpleasantness if I walk in a warm May day with the company of swirling pollen.In the dazzling sunshine, these elements look like an overwhelming troop, scary.

 

Climate in CT is very similar to Beijing. The temperature during daytime and night time can be different dramatically. Writing here, the tragedy happened days ago in BAIYIN COUNTY,  Gansu province came into my mind, made me feel sorrow. What’s in their minds when they realized they will die, leaving behind them are toddlers, young wives and old parents… sorriness and sadness for their families, horrors for themselves.  

 

It started with a cool morning. The cold air in living room led me shutting the sliding door to the deck. I watered the vegetables on my deck, indoor plants on my son’s computer desk. 

Reading a notice from management company reminded my responsibility. I need to put a new battery to the fire alarming. Since it lost the power, I had it uninstalled from wall and let it sit in my closet for months.

 

In Home depot, 95% of customers and staffs were having their masks on. I greeted a black staff, asking where I can find battery for my fire alarm. He was as nice as any other home depot staffs I ever met. He led me to the lane and pointed to the batterys hanging on the shelf.  Garbage bags are another must to buy today. Without asking for help, a Spanish guy walked to me and asked what he can do for me.

 

I followed him and talked with him. “what’s Home depot's new restriction on mask-wearing?”

 “PEOPLE WHO WERE FULLY VACCINED ARE NOT REQUESTED TO WEAR MASKS.” He said through a durable grey KN95 STYLE MASK. His dense beard stretching out of the mask  made me question inside “won’t he feel hot?“ have he been fully vaccinated?”

：过去一年里涨的5刀原来是消毒费，现在取消了。一直找一个黑人女理发师剪，因为她的认真，我和儿子都喜欢。她感谢我自去年以来一直过来找她剪发。而在我看来那是我的需要,儿子去学校上学，要有好的形象。社会是一个整体，有消费者，有服务者。在这里我是消费者，在那里我又是服务者。大家各司其职，彼此需要，相互扶持。真快：又到了草莓采摘季了。
