美国东部滑雪胜地--普莱西德湖的美丽秋色

普莱西德湖（Lake Placid)是位于纽约上州Adirondack山脉中的一个小村子，人口仅有2500人。因为在1932年和1980年举办过二届冬季奥运会而得名。另外于2000年还举办过唯一的一届冬季世界友好运动会。因此普莱西德湖具备了进行各项冬季体育运动项目的完美设施。在村里有一座设备先进的现代化奥林匹克滑冰馆。二届奥运会的所有速度滑冰，花样滑冰和冰球的赛事都在此举行。1980年冬奥会发生了二件大事，至今难忘。一是美国速滑运动员埃里可.海登（Eric Heiden)一人夺得了从500米至10000米的全部五项个人速滑项目的金牌，史无先例，这一壮举至今无人打破。二是苏联冰球队在当时是一巨无霸。获得了自1956年来的5届奥运金牌。美国队是一支由在学大学生组成的年轻球队，在与苏联队的决赛中比分三度落后，经过顽强奋战，最终以4：3反败为胜，轰动全美国，连总统都打来电话祝贺。

在离普莱西德湖13英里的白脸山（Whiteface Mountain)是美东地区最著名的高山滑雪场地。海拔1483米，高驾索道垂直的升高达到1050米，是美东之最。同时白脸山还是唯一的一座从山底至山顶全程通公路的高山。在山顶一览美丽的山光水色，风景美不胜收。

Lake Placid ice rink is where the famous Soviet Union Pair skater: Ekaterina and her husband, Sergy Ginkov practiced regularly. In year 1995, Sergei dead on ice during training from a heart-attack, he was only 28 years old, and Ekaterina is about 25. It was a very sad news shocked the whole world of figure skating. Ekaterina lost her husband and best partner. They win multiple top-level competition Gold medals and Olympic Gold medals.

After back home in Moscow, they give Sergei a like country-level cemetery.
