新的SAT推出后，我一直关心新的SAT和ACT的换算关系，今天我看到在College Board的官网上输入ACT，立刻就出现Comparing SAT® and ACT® Scores的标题，点击进去可以看到How to Compare Scores怎样比较分数
1，The most appropriate way to compare SAT and ACT scores is through a concordance table based on research by the makers of each test.
比较SAT和ACT分数的最合适的方法是通过各自考试机构对每个测试的研究得出的一致性表。
2，College admission officers use these tables to understand how students of comparable ability would score on the two exams. The tables clearly show which SAT scores are comparable to which ACT scores.
大学招生官通过这个表来比较学生们在两个考试分数上各自显示的能力。这个表清晰地给出了SAT对应于哪个ACT分数。
3，The table below compares Critical Reading and Mathematics sections, and the table on the back of this flyer includes the Writing section.
这个分数对比表还列出了阅读、数学以及写作的分项对应分数对比
4，We recommend that counselors use concordance tables to compare SAT and ACT scores. Percentile rankings are not a technically sound (or “appropriate”) way to compare scores across different tests because the rankings are applicable only to the administration of a particular exam to a specific group of examinees. Not only is comparing percentiles inaccurate, it can lead to improper testing guidance.
我们建议顾问使用一致性表来比较SAT和ACT分数。百分位的排名并不适合比较在不同测试上的分数,因为排名只适用于特定的考试管理的一个特定群体的考生。不仅是比较百分位数不准确，而且可能导致不当测试指导。也就是说这两种考试不能给出精确比较。
而在ACT的官网也出现这样的话
ACT官方：
The ACT and SAT are different tests that measure similar but distinct constructs. The ACT measures achievement related to high school curricula, while the SAT measures general verbal and quantitative reasoning.
ACT and the College Board have completed a concordance study that is designed to examine the relationship between two scores on the ACT and SAT. These concordance tables do not equate scores, but rather provide a tool for finding comparable scores.
ACT官方的意思大致是：ACT与SAT是不同的两种考试，测试的方法相似，但是结构不同，殊途同归。对于两种考试的定义，简单来说一个是针对高中课程掌握程度的考察，一个是对逻辑推理能力的测评，最终目的都是为了评测学生是否具备了进入大学接受高等教育的学习能力。
