12.5-Mile Run Today

I paid more attention to form, especially moving legs with
more glutes and less quads. It worked! I didn't feel tired
at all. In fact, I paced under 8 the last mile and felt I
could do better (although I started to do more heel strikes).
After the run, the tendons were a little sore but that's
all. The quads seemed more or less intact. My butt hurts a
little, exactly what I'd expect from my experiments. Let's
do more glutes-driving next time. Also, maybe I should do
some glutes exercise.
Another milestone was my home-made iskiate, the Tarahumara
sport drink. I made it right before the run and drank at
mile 5. It felt great and must have contributed to my
lasting energy. (It could be a placebo effect but let's see.)
We saw a big fox in the middle of the road before hitting
the toll plaza. It was orange-and-reddish with a big fat
tail. It took a curious look at us and trotted off the trail.
