Mother's day 2020

2020 year is a strangest year ever. Early January, I started to hear from my medical school classmate group about this mysterious virus. I spent fare amount of time to learn what is happening and what it means to our daily life. I had a business trip planned to visit a couple of Asia countries in early Feb. After some serious thoughts, i decided to cancel it. Good thing is that my boss supported. She didn't think it worths the risk and suggested delaying it. All the hotels, air tickets, agenda have been cancelled. In Feb, TV news started to report what's happening in hospitals in Wuhan and more people started to hear about it. Things evolved rapidly since late Feburary. People started to hear positive cases here and there in US. Mid-March, we were ordered to stay at home and started to work from home. The pandemic is affecting everyone around the world. 

After some time of confusion, frustration, ajustment, we are getting used to new norm. My husband is a life embracer. He enjoys working in garden, taking care of flowers etc. This year, we have more time to spend in gardening. We now have three veg gardens and some new flowers. We put fences around the veg gardens and brick borders for flower beds. Every day, we go out to check on our plants and take walks. 

Our kids are staying with us. The college senior came back as well. Mother's day became special as we are all at home. We don't need to rush time spending time together. The older one is so sweet and she spent the whole afternoon and made me a heart with fresh flowers from Azalea and mint leaves. It is beautiful! The younger one drew me a picture as she thought she needed to make me something as well.  My husband bought me some dishes (take-out) from restaurant. This is the first time we eat food from restaurant in 2 months. I am grateful to my family.

This is hard time for everyone and is affecting different people in different way. All we can do is to embrace what we have and make good things out of it.  Once you have most information you need to know about the situation, you don't need to listen to all the news, chats, stories about it. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. Do what you can do and leave the rest to the hands of god.
