I like this debating article written by Emily Zeng. She does not like the idea extending the free schooling to the college level. She imagines herself a college student with free schooling. She got the 100.

The clock ticks again and again, telling me that time is running out. Time is slipping like sand falling through my fingers. I gaze down at my test. It seems to stare back at me. Taking a test in college is pointless for me.I don't even bother studying , neverless try. Why waste my time, when the government is providing free schooling? My pencil carelessly fills in all of the answers that are unknown. I know that I have failed but I don't even care.

Desire is important to accomplish things. I had absolutely no desire while I was taking the test. If the government pays for our schooling, or if they provide free schooling, or if the government gives us complimentary schooling, I won't want to work hard. I won't want to achieve good grades. Once I graduate, my diploma will have little value. I walk back to my dorm thinking about desire. My thoughts are butterflies flying around my mind not knowing where to go.

The television in my dormitory springs to life when I turn it on to watch the news. President Barack Obama is talking to Congress about the government having financial issues. The only solution is to raise the tax rate. By doing so, it will help pay for the free schooling.

Sitting on my bed, I think about my parents back at home. They are still working at their old age to help support my brother with his figure skaging. If the government makes families pay more tax, my family will have the toughest time. We are not the richest of families but definitely not the poorest. We would be called middle class. The upper class are weathy so money doesn't matter for them. Poorer folks have other people assisting with their financial dilemmas. My parents will have to work even harder.

How I would support myself in college is by having a night job. I'm able to pay for my college tuition using my yearly salary working as a waitress at Olive Garden. Every night I works hard. I stroll through the front door of Olive Garden and the smell of Italian food pleases my nose. Everthing in side is nice, neat, and orgnized. Silverware on the tables are laid down side by side with napkins folde, placed on a china plate. Glasses that will soon be filled, glisten as the light shines on them. I breathe deeply and put my apron on that has my name embroidered on it. Customers chatter softly while waiting. I begin to take orders.

My freshman year of college has gone by so quickly. By having a job, I have learned to work hard and be responsible of my own fees.

My parents are still working and the government is still raising the tax. There  has been lots of consequences of the government providing free schooling and I hope this idea will eventually disappear. The first year of college is over and I can't wait to see my family again.
