Set testing directory for Oracle Reports for testing purpose

(2009-09-24 12:28:42) 下一个

This is a case that you are applying new changes on an Oracle Reports rdf file. You need to test on it but don’t want to override the existing rdf file because other people are using the old version.

Here is the workaround.

1) Copy the rdf file to a directory different from the normal location: $XX_TOP/Reports/US/.  For example: $XX_TOP/Reports

2) Set a system profile on user level.
    Responsibility: System Administrator
Profile -> System: Check ‘User’, put my user_id,
    Search for profile: %FND%Override%
Profile Option Name: ‘FND: Override Directory’ will be displayed.
Set value: ‘/u01/oracle/sit/sitappl/xx/1.0.0/reports’ for this profile under my userid. ($XX_TOP = /u01/oracle/sit/sitappl/xx/1.0.0)

Save.

After all these done, every time we run a request calling Oracle Reports Executive, it will go to this directory to find the file. If no file is found, then go to the normal directory.

Brave!!!
