She almost died...

Thursday started out like any other day. Around lunch, my supervisor pulled me and some other people aside for training in something new in the department we are assisting. As usual, I sat next to Dee, as I do whenever we are trained together, which is pretty often as we are one of the only people that know how to work in that system. It was to take most of the day. I had an interview at 3 o'clock. As I was getting back, my group was going on break from training. I saw Dee outside the doorway looking sick. I thought she was still sick from last week, when she missed four days due to the flu. She looked like she wasn't in too bad condition. However, a few minutes later, she got worse. We thought it was a mini-stroke, because she was pale, and unresponsive. It was as if she was paralyzed. Her eyes were wide with fear. The ambulance was called, and we tried to get through to her while waiting. I was called back into training before the ambulance arrived. All the while in class, I kept thinking about Dee, wondering how she was. She was pretty up there in age, and she has Diabetes. As far as I knew, she kept it under control. As soon as training got out, I rushed to her desk, thinking she could have already been taken away by the ambulance. Thankfully she was there, and she was fine. She was eating and drinking, looking calm. Apparently, she was still a little sick from last week. She also got stressed, which raised her blood pressure. I wasn't sure if it was a mini-stroke or not; I'm just glad she's fine. It was one of the scariest moments of my life.
